Economic Restructuring Committee: This committee is co-chaired by Mississippi Power Company’s Mark Loughman and Regions Bank’s Eddie Appel. The purpose of this committee is to identify and implement ways to improve and promote the district’s economic condition to attract new businesses and development and retain the ones who have been mainstays. This committee successfully drafted and presented to City Council for adoption a resolution to abate ad valorem taxes for new development and rehabilitation projects in the downtown district.
