The Gulfport City Council and Harrison County Board of Superivsors recently adopted a resolution to abate ad valorem taxes for up to seven years, on a case by case basis, for new construction and rehabilitation projects in the downtown area. The abatement program freezes property value assessments at their current rate for up to seven years when an improvement to the property has been made.
